Abraxane Overview

Abraxane (generic: paclitaxel) is a prescription medication used to treat breast cancer, lung cancer, and late-stage pancreatic cancer. It belongs to a group of drugs called taxanes. Taxanes slow the growth of tumors by interfering with the reproduction of cancer cells.

Abraxane comes in an injectable form to be given directly into a vein (IV) by a healthcare provider.
