Adcirca Overview

Adcirca (generic: tadalafil) is a prescription medication used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) to improve the ability to exercise.  Adcirca belongs to a group of drugs called phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) inhibitors.  It works by causing blood vessels in the lungs to relax which lowers blood pressure.

Adcirca comes in tablet form and is usually taken once a day, with or without food.

Common side effects of Adcirca include headache, nausea, and muscle pain.
