Aloxi Overview
Aloxi (generic: palonosetron) is a prescription medication used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by certain cancer treatments or surgery. Aloxi belongs to a group of drugs called 5-HT3 receptor antagonists, which block a natural substance called serotonin from causing nausea and vomiting.
This medication comes in capsule form and in an injectable form. The capsules are taken one hour before cancer treatments, with or without food. The injectable form is given into your vein (IV) by a healthcare professional.
Common side effects of Aloxi include headache, constipation, and tiredness.
