Alphagan P Overview
Alphagan P (generic: brimonidine) is a prescription eye drop used to treat an eye condition called glaucoma. It is also used to treat a condition called ocular hypertension (higher than normal pressure inside the eye), which can lead to glaucoma if not treated. Alphagan P belongs to a group of drugs called alpha adrenergic agonists. It works by decreasing the amount of fluid produced in the eyes.
This medication comes in the form of an eye drop. The recommended dose is one drop in the affected eye(s) three times daily, approximately 8 hours apart.
Common side effects include eye allergies, itching, and redness.
