Aromasin (generic: exemestane) is a prescription medication used in the treatment of advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women previously treated with tamoxifen. Aromasin belongs to a group of drugs called aromatase inhibitors. These medications work by lowering estrogen levels which may slow or stop the growth of certain types of breast cancer.
