Avelox
Avelox Overview

Avelox (generic: moxifloxacin) is a prescription antibiotic used to treat infections in adults caused by bacteria including pneumonia, bronchitis, sinus infections, and skin infections.

Avelox belongs to a group of drugs called fluoroquinolones, which help to kill bacteria in the body by inhibiting a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase.
 
This medication comes in tablet and injectable forms. The tablet is usually taken once a day, for 7 to 14 days. It may be taken with or without food. 
 
Some of the common side effects with Avelox include nausea, diarrhea, and dizziness. Do not drive until you know how this medicine affects you.
