Avinza (generic: morphine) is a prescription medication used to treat moderate to severe around-the-clock pain. Avinza belongs to a group of drugs called opioid narcotics. Opoid narcotics bind to receptors throughout the body, which helps relieve pain.
This medication comes in capsule form and must be swallowed whole once a day, with or without food.
Some of the common side effects of Avinza include constipation, nausea, itchiness, and sleepiness. Do not drink alcohol or any foods or medications containing alcohol while taking Avinza.
