Axiron (generic: testosterone) is a prescription medicine used to treat adult males with low testosterone. Axiron is in a class of medicines called hormone replacements. It works by raising the level of testosterone in the blood.

Axiron is available as a liquid that is rubbed onto the armpits with an applicator. It is used once a day, usually in the morning. 
 
Common side effects include skin redness and irritation, nausea, and headache. Axiron can transfer from your body to others.
