Benzamycin Overview

Benzamycin (generic: erythromycin and benzoyl peroxide) is a prescription medication used to treat acne. It is a topical gel that contains 2 medications, erythromycin and benzoyl peroxide. Benzamycin belongs to a class of drugs called topical antibiotics. These work by stopping the growth of bacteria on the skin.

This medication comes in topical gel form that is applied to the skin twice a day. Avoid contact with eyes, inside the nose, mouth, and all mucous membranes.

Common side effects of Benzamycin include dry skin, stinging, and redness of the skin.
