Breo Ellipta (generic: fluticasone/vilanterol) is an inhaled prescription medication used long-term to prevent breathing difficulties (wheezing, cough, chest tightness and shortness of breath) caused by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Breo Ellipta is a combination of two medications: fluticasone, an inhaled corticosteroid, and vilanterol, a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA). It works by decreasing inflammation in the lungs and helping the muscles in your lungs to stay relaxed, which opens up the airways making it easier to breathe.

Breo Ellipta is a dry powder inhaled once-daily via a special Ellipta inhaler device.

Common side effects include runny nose, upper respiratory tract infection, headache, and oral candidiasis (thrush).
