Campral Overview
Campral (generic: acamprosate) is a prescription medication which helps people who have alcohol dependence issues remain alcohol free. Drinking alcohol, over time, changes the way the brain works. Campral helps to reverse these changes to help you remain alcohol free.
This medication comes in tablet form and is taken by mouth, usually as 2 tablets 3 times a day, with or without food.
Common side effects of Campral include weakness, diarrhea, anxiety, and dry mouth. This medication may also cause dizziness. Do not drive a car or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
