Combivent Overview

Combivent (generic: ipratropium/albuterol) is a prescription medication used daily to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is a single aerosol spray containing 2 medications, ipratropium and albuterol. Ipratropium and albuterol belong to a group of drugs called bronchodilators, which cause the smooth muscles of the airways to relax, making it easier to breathe.

This medication comes in a spray form and is used 4 to 6 times a day.

Common side effects of Combivent include fatigue, hoarseness, and dizziness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how Combivent affects you.
