Coreg CR (generic: carvedilol) is a prescription medication used to treat symptoms of heart failure and hypertension (high blood pressure) in adults. Coreg CR belongs to a group of drugs called beta blockers. It works to decrease blood pressure, heart rate, and the workload of the heart by blocking beta receptors.
This medication comes in capsule form and is usually taken once daily.
Common side effects of Coreg CR include hypotension (low blood pressure), weight increase, and shortness of breath. Coreg CR can cause dizziness. Do not drive a car or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
