Daratumumab
Daratumumab Overview

Daratumumab is an investigational cancer drug. It has been granted Breakthrough Therapy Designation by the FDA (an accelerated review process) in the treatment of multiple myeloma. It is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the CD38 molecule found on the surface of multiple myeloma cells, signalling the immune system to kill these cells. Daratumumab may be useful in fighting other blood-related cancers, including certain lymphomas and leukemias, as the CD38 is also expressed on these cells.

Daratumumab is being studied in multiple myeloma patients who have previously received at least three lines of therapy.
