Daytrana (generic: methylphenidate) is a prescription medication used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in people 6 to 17 years old. Daytrana belongs to a group of medications called central nervous system stimulants. It works by changing the amounts of substances in the brain so you can pay attention and be less impulsive.

This medication comes in the form of a skin patch to be applied to the hip once a day, in the morning.

The patch is usually worn for up to 9 hours. Common side effects include skin irritation at the site of the patch, poor appetite, nausea, and mood swings.
