Depo-Estradiol Overview
Depo-Estradiol (generic: estradiol) is a prescription medicine that contains a form of estrogen, a female sex hormone. It is used to reduce moderate to severe menopausal symptoms including hot flashes and vaginal dryness. It is also used for women who are not making enough estrogen.
Depo-Estradiol comes as a liquid to be injected into a muscle every three to four weeks by a healthcare provider.
Common side effects include headache, breast pain, nausea, and irregular vaginal bleeding or spotting.
