Duragesic Overview
Duragesic (generic: fentanyl) is a prescription medication used to treat moderate to severe chronic (long lasting) pain. Duragesic belongs to a group of drugs called opiate analgesics, which change the way the body responds to pain.
This medication comes in the form of a skin patch that is usually applied once every 72 hours.
Common side effects of Duragesic include nausea, constipation, and dry mouth. Duragesic can cause drowsiness. Duragesic should not be taken with alcohol. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how Duragesic will affect you.
