Edurant (generic: rilpivirine) is a prescription medicine used in combination with other medications to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in certain patients.  Edurant is in a class of drugs called non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTIs).  It blocks an enzyme that the virus needs in order to reproduce.
