Elidel
Elidel Overview
Elidel (generic: pimecrolimus) is a prescription medication used to treat eczema in adults and children at least 2 years of age. Elidel cream is in a class of drugs called topical calcineurin inhibitors. It works by reducing inflammation, which helps relieve symptoms of eczema.
This medication comes in the form of a cream to be applied to the affected area(s) twice daily for short periods. Treatment may be repeated. Elidel Cream is used on the skin for short periods, and if needed, treatment may be repeated with breaks in between.
Common side effects of Elidel include headache, stuffy nose, and a warm or burning feeling on the area of application.
