Elocon (generic: mometasone) is a prescription medication used to relieve itching, inflammation and redness of a variety of inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema or dermatitis. This medication belongs to a group of drugs called topical corticosteroids. The exact way it works is unknown but it is believed to work by suppressing the immune system.

Elocon comes in lotion, cream, and ointment forms. It should be applied sparingly to the affected skin areas once daily.
