Gilenya (generic: fingolimod) is a prescription medication used to treat relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS) in adults. Gilenya belongs to a group of drugs called sphingosine l-phosphate receptor modulators. It may work by decreasing the activity of certain cells of the immune system.

This medication comes in capsule form and is taken once a day, with or without food.

Common side effects of Gilenya include headache, flu, diarrhea, and back pain.
