Hyzaar (generic: losartan/hydrochlorothiazide) is a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure and to lower the chance of stroke in people with heart disease. Hyzaar is a single tablet containing 2 prescription drugs.

Losartan belongs to a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs), which help blood vessels to relax. Hydrochlorothiazide belongs to a group of drugs called diuretics ("water pills"), which help the body get rid of excess fluid.

This medication comes in tablet form and is taken once a day, with or without food.
