Jakafi (generic: ruxolitinib) is a prescription medication used to treat certain kinds of myelofibrosis, a condition that causes scar tissue to replace bone marrow. This leads to decreased blood cell production.  Jakafi belongs to a group of drugs called kinase inhibitors, which help prevent scar tissue from forming in the bone marrow.

This medication comes in tablet form and is usually taken twice a day, with or without food.

Common side effects of Jakafi include dizziness and headache.  Do not drink grapefruit juice while taking Jakafi.
