Lescol Overview
Lescol (generic: fluvastatin) is a prescription medication used in people with heart disease to lower the chances of heart problems by lowering high cholesterol and triglycerides levels.
Lescol belongs to a group of medications called statins (or HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors). It works by decreasing the rate of production of cholesterol in the body.
This medication comes in capsule form and is taken once or twice daily, with or without food.
Common side effects of Lescol include headache, nausea, stomach pain, and diarrhea.
