Levaquin Overview
Levaquin (generic: levofloxacin) is a prescription medication used to treat certain bacterial infections such as pneumonia, chronic bronchitis, and infections of the sinuses, urinary tract, kidneys, prostate (a male reproductive gland), and skin. Levaquin belongs to a group of drugs called fluoroquinolone antibiotics which work by killing the bacteria causing infection.
This medication comes in tablet and liquid form and is usually taken once daily.
Common side effects of Levaquin include nausea, headache, dizziness, and diarrhea.
