Monopril Overview
Monopril (generic: fosinopril) is a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. Monopril belongs to a group of drugs called angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, which relax blood vessels to lower blood pressure and make the heart more efficient.
This medication comes in tablet form and is usually taken once a day, with or without food. It should be taken at around the same time each day.
Common side effects of Monopril include cough, upset stomach, and vomiting. This medication can cause dizziness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how it affects you.
