Norvir Overview

Norvir (generic: ritonavir) is a prescription medication used to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infections in adults and children.  Norvir belongs to a group of drugs called HIV protease inhibitors, which decrease the amount of HIV in the blood.

This medication comes in capsule, tablet, and oral solution forms and is taken twice a day, with meals.

Common side effects of Norvir include weakness, tiredness, and nausea.
