Oxtellar XR (generic: oxcarbazepine) is a prescription medication used to treat partial seizures in people with epilepsy. Oxtellar XR belongs to a group of drugs called anticonvulsants. It is believed to work by blocking sodium channels in the brain to decrease abnormal electrical activity in the brain.

This medication comes in tablet form to be taken on an empty stomach, once a day. Swallow Oxtellar XR tablets whole.
