Rapaflo (generic: silodosin) is a prescription medication used to treat the symptoms of enlarged prostate, known medically as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Rapaflo belongs to a group of drugs called alpha blockers. Unlike some BPH medicines, Rapaflo does not shrink the prostate. It works by relaxing the muscles in the bladder and prostate so urine can flow easily.

This medication comes in capsule form. It is taken once daily, with food.

Common side effects include diarrhea, headache, and dizziness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how it affects you.
