Reglan Overview
Reglan (generic: metoclopramide) is a prescription medication used for short-term treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and for symptoms caused by slow stomach emptying related to diabetes. Reglan belongs to a group of drugs called prokinetic agents, which speed the movement of food through the digestive system.
This medication comes in tablet form and is taken four times a day, before meals and at bedtime.
Common side effects of Reglan include restlessness, headache, and confusion. Reglan can cause dizziness and drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how Reglan will affect you.
