Remeron (generic: mirtazapine) is a prescription medication used to treat depression. Remeron belongs to a group of drugs called antidepressants, which change the brain's activity to maintain mental balance.  

This medication comes in tablet form and is taken once a day in the evening, with or without food.

Common side effects of Remeron include increased appetite, dry mouth, and constipation.  Remeron can cause drowsiness and dizziness.  Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how Remeron will affect you.
