Rescriptor Overview

Rescriptor (generic: delavirdine) is a prescription medication used to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infections.  Rescriptor belongs to a group of drugs called reverse transcriptase inhibitors, which help to block HIV reverse transcriptase, a substance the virus uses to make more copies of itself.

This medication comes in tablet form and is taken 3 times daily, with or without food.

Common side effects of Rescriptor include rashes, headache, and nausea.
