Revatio
Revatio Overview

Revatio (generic: sildenafil) is a prescription medication used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). With PAH, blood pressure in the lungs is too high. This makes the heart work harder to pump blood into the lungs, which causes shortness of breath, dizziness, and tiredness. Revatio belongs to a group of drugs called PDE5 inhibitors which treat PAH by relaxing blood vessels in the lungs allowing blood to flow more easily.

This medication comes in tablet form. It is usually taken 3 times daily, with or without food. Revatio is also available in an injectable form.

Common side effects of Revatio are nosebleeds, headache, and upset stomach.
