Seroquel XR (generic: quetiapine) is a prescription medication used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder in adults older than 18 years of age.

Seroquel XR belongs to a group of drugs called antisychotics.  The exact way it works is unclear, but it is proposed to regulate certain chemicals in the brain.

This medication comes in tablet form and is usually taken once daily with or without food.

Common side effects of Seroquel XR are sleepiness, dizziness, and dry mouth.
