Stromectol (generic: ivermectin) is a prescription medication used to treat threadworm and river blindness. These are infections caused by certain roundworms that enter the body through the skin. Stromectol belongs to a group of drugs called anthelmintics, which kill certain types of parasitic worms.
Stromectol comes in tablet form and is taken by mouth as a single dose.
