Temodar (generic: temozolomide) is a prescription medication used to treat brain cancer tumors in adults.  Temodar belongs to a group of drugs called alkylating agents, which slow or stop the growth of cancer cells.

This medication comes in capsule and injectable forms.  The capsules are taken once daily, with or without food. Swallow Temodar capsules whole, with a full glass of water.  The injection is given directly into a vein (IV) by a healthcare provider.

Common side effects of Temodar include nausea, headache, vomiting, and hair loss.
