Temodar
Overview

Temodar is a drug intended for use in the treatment of adults with brain cancer. It can be used in accompaniment with radiotherapy and then following as a maintenance treatment. It is also meant for patients who have experienced disease progression while on a drug regimen including Nitrosourea and Procarbazine. Consult your doctor if you believe you are eligible.

The recommended dose for Temodar as an travenous infusion over 90 minutes is the same as the dosage for the oral capsule formulation. Dosage administration differs depending on condition being treated as well as factors including sleep and eating schedule. Because food affects Temodar absorption, consult your doctor on the safest route of ingestion. The drug in capsule form should be taken on an empty stomach with a whole glass of water.

Because the drug can cause nausea and vomiting, you should discuss with your doctor the risks and benefits of taking the prescription as well as how it will fit into your daily life. These side effects are self-limiting or readily controllable with standard antiemetic therapy.
