Trandate Overview

Trandate (generic: labetalol) is a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure. This medication belongs to a group of drugs called beta blockers. It works to decrease blood pressure, heart rate, and the workload of the heart by blocking beta receptors.

Trandate comes in tablet form. It is usually taken 2 or 3 times a day, with or without food. Trandate also comes in an injectable form to be given directly into a vein by a healthcare provider.

Common side effects include nausea, tiredness, and dizziness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how it affects you.
