Uloric Overview

Uloric (generic: febuxostat) is a prescription medication used to prevent gout attacks. Gout is a type of arthritis in which uric acid builds up in the joints and causes sudden attacks of redness, swelling, pain, and heat in one or more joints. Uloric belongs to a group of drugs called xanthine oxidase inhibitors. It works by decreasing the amount of uric acid that is made in the body. 

Uloric comes in tablet form. It is taken once daily, with or without food.

Common side effects include nausea and joint pain.
