Ultresa (generic: pancrelipase) is a prescription medication used to improve digestion in people who cannot digest food normally because their pancreas does not make enough enzymes due to cystic fibrosis or other conditions. Ultresa capsules contain a mixture of digestive enzymes including lipases, proteases, and amylases from pig pancreas. It works by replacing digestive enzymes normally produced by the pancreas.

This medication comes in capsule form. It is taken with every meal or snack, usually 5 or 6 times a day. Swallow Ultresa capsules whole with plenty of water.

Common side effects of Ultresa include headache, throat pain, and nose bleeds.
