Vidaza (generic: azacitidine) is a prescription medication used to treat myelodysplastic syndrome. The bone marrow does not make enough healthy blood cells in this type of condition. Vidaza belongs to a group of drugs called demethylation agents, which work by helping the bone marrow to produce normal blood cells and by killing abnormal cells in the bone marrow.

This medication is available in an injectable form to be given directly under the skin (subQ) or into the vein (IV) by a healthcare professional.

Common side effects of Vidaza include nausea, vomiting, fever, and constipation.
