Viokace
Viokace Overview

Viokace (generic: pancrelipase) is a prescription medication, used along with another medication, to improve digestion in adults who have swelling of the pancreas, or have had some or all of their pancreas removed. Viokace contains a mixture of digestive enzymes (including lipases, proteases, and amylases) from pig pancreas. It works by replacing digestive enzymes normally produced by the pancreas.

This medication comes in tablet form. It is taken with every meal or snack, usually 5 or 6 times a day. Swallow Viokace tablets whole with plenty of water.

Common side effects of Viokace include gall stones, and anal itching.
