Xeloda is approved by the FDA to treat the following types of cancer:

• Breast cancer – Xeloda is used in combination with docetaxel (Taxotere) to treat metastatic breast cancer (breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body) after anthracycline-type medications have failed (doxorubicin), or it can be used by itself to treat metastatic breast cancer if treatment with paclitaxel (Taxol) has failed.
• Colon cancer – Xeloda has been used to treat patients after surgery to remove part of the colon to prevent it from spreading further, as well as treat colon cancer that has already spread.
