In consultation with the FDA, McNeil Consumer Healthcare is recalling a limited number of product lots of Tylenol Arthritis Pain 100-count bottles of caplets with the distinctive red EZ-Open cap.
McNeil is initiating the recall after identifying an uncharacteristic smell or taste associated with these lots that led to a small number of consumers reporting nausea and related symptoms.

This recall includes five product lots only and does not include any other lots of Tylenol Arthritis Pain 100-count bottles of caplets with EZ-Open cap or any other Tylenol Arthritis Pain products. These lots are subject to the recall:

  • 08BMC013
  • 08BMC020
  • 09BMC034
  • 09CMC036
  • 09CMC040

All these lots have the UPC 0045-0838-21 and the additional code 8382100 printed along with the lot number on the side of the bottle label.

Consumers who purchased any of the lots included in this recall should stop using the product and contact McNeil for instructions on a refund or replacement at 888-222-6036 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST. Consumers can also visit www.tylenol.com.
