RUSSELL J. RICCI, M.D. – Chairman, Medical Advisory Board

Dr RicciDr. Ricci is a former general manager of IBM’s Healthcare Industry, has held a broad range of senior level positions spanning the healthcare industry including technology organizations, payor organizations, service providers, non-profit organizations and trade associations, and governmental and research institutions.

Dr. Ricci currently chairs the advisory board for Meditech, a private healthcare information systems company, and has also held executive and clinical positions with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Voluntary Hospitals of America (VHA), eHealth Initiative, and Connecting for Health, a non-profit working to realize the full potential of information technology in healthcare while protecting patient privacy and the security of personal medication information.

Dr. Ricci received his medical training in child psychiatry at Harvard University and is a former associate chairman and assistant clinical professor at Boston University School of Medicine.

CHRISTOPHER QUINN, O.D., F.A.A.O. – Medical Advisor

Dr. Quinn is President of OMNI Eye Services. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Biology at Indiana University and received his Doctor of Optometry degree at Pennsylvania College of Optometry where he received awards for outstanding academic performance. Dr. Quinn completed his internship at Fort Howard V.A. Medical Center, Baltimore MD in affiliation with the Wilmer Ophthalmology Institute.

Dr. Quinn holds academic appointment at The New England College of Optometry, State University of New York College of Optometry, University of Houston College of Optometry, Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Southern College of Optometry and University of California Berkeley College of Optometry. Dr Quinn is actively involved with the American Optometric Association, New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians, American Public Health Association – Vision Care Section, and the Mid-Jersey Optometry Society. Dr. Quinn is on the Medical Staff at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

Dr. Quinn has been extensively published in professional journals and books. He is the principal author of the American Optometric Association’s Clinical Guideline on Care of the Patient with Conjunctivitis. He is currently a contributing editor to the Review of Optometry. He is a recognized authority and sought after to lecture nationally and internationally on the treatment of eye disease and co-management.

WILLIAM RICE, M.D.-Medical Advisor

Dr RiceWilliam Rice, M.D. is a physician who uniquely combines his background in clinical medicine with entrepreneurial endeavors. Dr. Rice has participated in the formation and initial work of a number of early stage health care companies and is Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of WhiteGlove House Call Health.
Previously, he was the first full-time physician involved in the development of RevolutionHealth, a Steve Case (founder of AOL) company focused on the consumer healthcare space.
Dr. Rice holds a patent for a system and method to optimize the care of chronic disease patients and has written a book entitled American Health Care 2008, Opportunities for Disruptive Improvement. As the founding chairman and CEO of Stat Healthcare, Dr. Rice built one of the largest physician management companies in the United States and managed the business from inception to public offering.
Dr. Rice graduated from the University of Michigan with a BS in Physiology with High Honors, earned his MD degree from University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio, had Internship/Residency training in General Surgery at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Houston, TX.

DALE SHAW, PharmD- Medical Advisor

Dr ShawDr. Shaw has practiced for over 20 years in all aspects of pharmacy including critical care, community, and home infusion with extensive background in management, pharmaceutical design, and medical literature analysis. He has lobbied in Washington,D.C. for the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PHARMA) and worked for MedImpact, a Pharmaceutical Benefit Management Company.  He received a Bachelor of Science from Oregon State University and his Doctor of Pharmacy from Idaho State University. He has been published in several professional journals and currently resides in the Pacific Northwest.

JONATHAN I. SHEINBERG, M.D., FACC – Medical Advisor

Dr SheinbergDr. Jonathan Sheinberg received his medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, where he also completed a rotating internship.  He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at USAF Medical Center Keesler, Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi.

Dr. Sheinberg is trained in both invasive and noninvasive cardiology, performing cardiac catheterization, pacemaker implantation, transthoracic and transesophogeal echocardiography, and other noninvasive cardiac procedures.

Dr. Sheinberg is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is licensed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to perform cardiac nuclear testing.  He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and is a member of the Travis County Medical Society and the Texas Medical Association.

MARK BANS, D.C.- Medical Advisor

Mark Bans is a Chiropractic Physician and health care provider specializing in traditional chiropractic therapy. Bans also schooled in alternative mind-body-emotions-energy techniques such as Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET), Bio-Energetic Synchronization Technique (BEST), Nutrition Response Testing (NRT)and Total Body Modification (TBM).

JOSEPH V. MADIA. M.D. – dailyRx.com Medical Editor 

Dr MadiaDr. Madia, is a 2009 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and a 2002 graduate of the University of Notre Dame. As the dailyRx.com Medical Editor Dr. Madia is pursuing his interests in medical writing, medical consulting, and medical education. He has worked on research projects in plastic surgery, orthopedics, and otolaryngology.  Of special interest to Dr. Madia are the fields of psychiatry and addiction medicine, and immunology and cancer genetics. Dr. Madia is a regular contributor to dailyRx.com, reviewing and writing articles. He grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, and currently lives in Austin, TX.

Manuel Cantu -Author

Manuel received his Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from the University of Texas at Austin. His concentration on Media Studies helped him develop a keen eye for intriguing stories and the ability to make research relatable. Travis Hill -Author

Travis is a recent graduate of Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon where he earned bachelor’s degrees in International Relations and Hispanic Studies. Travis’ health beat includes diabetes, kidney disease, and pediatrics. An avid musician, he has performed in various cities around the U.S. as well as Chile. Originally from San Diego, California, Travis now resides in Austin, Texas.

Cancer, cardiology, eye diseases, nutrition, neuromuscular disease, and healthcare industry are among the subjects that Kyle covers.

Jim Crowell -Contributing Author

Jim is the owner and head trainer at Integrated Fitness, a high-level sport specific training and CrossFit facility located in Pittsburgh. Jim trains all levels of athletes from children to professional athletes, and everywhere in between. In addition to coaching, Jim is a co-creator of the Mental Mastery Program which works with up and coming athletes to hone their mental and emotional toughness both on and off of the field. Jim graduated from Penn State University in 2005 with a BS in Finance and a BS in Economics.
