New research shows that people with chronic knee pain may be able to help their condition by learning skills online and doing exercises with a physiotherapist in video conferences.
For the study, published Feb. 21 in Annals of Internal Medicine, researchers analyzed 148 people over 50 with chronic knee pain. The patients did exercises at home and had a PCST program for three months.
The results showed that the participants experienced significant improvements in knee pain and function for six months after the study ended. The study could potentially lead to more programs through which patients could remotely help improve their chronic knee pain.
