Dovonex (generic: calcipotriene) is a prescription medication used to treat plaque psoriasis of the skin and scalp. This medication belongs to a group of drugs called synthetic analogs of vitamin D3. Although the exact way it works is unknown, it may help treat plaque psoriasis by slowing the excessive production of skin cells.
Dovonex comes in the form of a skin cream and a solution (liquid) to be used on the scalp. Both the cream and the solution are usually applied twice daily.
